Quick Reference
Back Loop
BLInsert the hook into only the back loop of the stitch, leaving the front loop unworked.
Between
btwnWork the stitch in the space between two stitches rather than into a stitch.
Chain
chThe foundation of most crochet projects. Creates a series of loops.
How to:
- Make a slip knot and place on hook
- Yarn over (wrap yarn around hook from back to front)
- Pull through the loop on your hook
- One chain made! Repeat for desired length
Double Crochet
dcA taller stitch that creates a more open, drapey fabric.
How to:
- Yarn over, insert hook into stitch
- Yarn over and pull through (3 loops on hook)
- Yarn over and pull through 2 loops (2 loops remaining)
- Yarn over and pull through last 2 loops
Half Double Crochet
hdcBetween single and double crochet in height. Creates a nice texture.
How to:
- Yarn over, insert hook into stitch
- Yarn over and pull through (3 loops on hook)
- Yarn over and pull through all 3 loops at once

Pull Through

How to:
